Pygmy Wrasse Compatibility

In a 6 ft 150 gallon mixed reef tank, would 5 (1 male + 4 females)Carpenter's Flasher Wrasses & 1 Royal Gramma be compatible with 3 (1 male + 2 females)Tanaka Pygmy Wrasses. I am worried about the wrasses being too boisterous and the Gramma being to aggressive for these timid fish.

I'm not so sure you're going to be able to get female flasher wrasses. I would get males of different flasher family.
The royal grama will stake out his tertiory but a 6' tank should allow enough room for a Pygmy wrasse to avoid others if you have a decent amount of rock work.

I have a 48" tank, 2 corris wrasse, 2 flasher wrasse, 1 tanaka's Pygmy, 1 Pink Streaked Wrasse...and a handful of other fish.

Agreed with above. The flashers and pygmy wrasses will ignore each other, and in a 6' tank no issues with the gramma either.

Acquiring female flashers will be difficult. In fact to correctly i.d. on the species level they will already have begun their transition into males, and males of the same species are far more intolerant of each other than males of different species. However, males of different species will still flash and display at one another. I recommend getting a few males of different species.

Thanks everybody for the tips. I guess that is what I will do: Blue, Carpenters, McCosker's, Exquisite, not sure what should be next.

Mixed Flasher Wrasses

Mixed Flasher Wrasses

Thanks for the tips. That is what I will do: Carpenters, Blue/Line Spot, Orange Back, McCoskers, Filamented should make a nice showy group. I hope I can find them all.

If that doesn't work, I will try 5 Carberry Anthias.

I have three fairy wrasses, a royal gramma and a tanakas, among the fish in my 4 ft 120.

I have no aggression at all, and only occasional posturing from my Lubbocks which everyone including a firefish totally ignores. My possum wrasse is the least intimidating fish I have ever seen and he (or she) doesn't even look toward another fish. He and my gramma don't even bat an eye even when the wrasse is at the grammas cave. Zero issues with compatability IME
