Pytoplankton Culture Age Question/Discution

I was just thinking/wondering(New to this whole culture thing) How long can you save home cultured nano, ocult,or t for? For giving to rearing tank, Is only fresh culture recommended? or should I just test the water for ph and nitrates? If stored...Refrige or room temp/Light? Tanks

I keep some in the fridge for back-up, but try to feed only fresh. Back-up supply is rotated as fast as possible and old is fed to the reef.

I usually consume what in the fridge within 2 months, Im sure it would last longer. Soon as it has an odor.. its bad.

I agree totally, except for the personal consumption of home grown phytoplankton.... ewww
