Q/H tank setup and Disease ID

Hey guys i'm hoping this thread will help educate others and myself in proper tank setup and medicating.Does the tank have to cycle,what should the specific gravity be,lighting or no lighting,temperature of the water etc....also when medicating with copper,should the fish be placed into the tank before the copper or copper first then the fish?what should the (ppm)(MG/L) be maintained at?I have used Cupramine buffered active copper and could not find a trace of it with API copper tester,I dont know why.I lost my beautiful pride and joy Regal Tang due to my lack of knowledge and I hope this thread helps myself and others to prevent this from happening again.If anyone can upload pics of diseases with descriptions it would be awesome.I tried to diagnose things myself and looking it up on the net, it seems like everyone has a different method to the madness.PLEASE post your different situations here.I have learned that my Regal tang had Lymphosis.I hope i spelled it right.It looked white and clumpy kind of like cotton,not like ich where it is small white specs of crystalized particles.It covered her body and fins,she was breathing rapidly and rubbed on anything near her.She still ate like the pig she was.but I still lost her due to my lack of knowledge and it saddens me.I hope this thread helps anyone diagnose there fish which has this disease or any other disease.

Adding copper to a uncycled hp tank is not good, and api test kits are hared to read try the seachem kit , and lympo is a virus no cure you have to let it run its course.Salinity should be same as DT. Qt tank should be bare bottom with hang on filter and heater very simple and basic. Keep a sponge in your DT to use on your qt to provide biological.

The rapid breathing imo was from stress
