You would want to only treat fish in a separate tank from display. QT coral and inverts are in a separate tank as well with no treatments. And fish aren't effected by cal. And your normal cal and alk levels apply to the invert QT.
paul my inverts are still in my display my fish have been moved to a different tank. in your opinion do you think i can still have success w/out removing the inverts?
absolutely, I believe I misread your question if that is the case. I thought you were using hypo treatment on inverts! Just keep it in mind if /when you add any other inverts to your system to qt for 4-6 weeks. no treatment of inverts just isolation.
no problem, I've been there and lost more money than I have at the casino. In a lot of ways they are one in the same with the house ALWAYS winning at the end. With QT there is still a gamble but the odds are ridiculously in your favor. PM me if you have any other Q's.
You don't care about calc when QT fish ... focus on ammonia.
Since your running a hypo tank your PH may be unstable because you have 2/3'rd less salt mixture and therefore less alkalinity (buffer). Use a alkalinity test kit and bring your alkalinity up to about 3-4 meg/l and PH won't be an issue.
