Hey guys I have a weird question can I use my to be dt as a qt beforit is set usp it's a 100 and I want to put the fish in it for qt and cure my live rock in another tank and then put it in that or get fully cured live rock from my lfs and add it later becausei heard that you don't need to cycle a qt except for maybe a bacteria in bottle thing I will only have a small tang and a few clownfish and a jawfish will it be ok and I think I will just get the fully cured live rock from my lfs

Make sure you understand cycling and make sure you test the water a lot. You'll ned more than a little bottle of bacteria. Get some bioballs or sponge filter from an established and healthy tank. And don't do a few clowns. 2. Good luck.

+1 There are a dozen kinds of Miracle-Gro bacteria starters. I've tried a couple, heard of many attempts and think they might work a little, some of the time. Most times, they seem to do nothing and have even blamed in tank wipe-outs. (The "Right Now" brand). Cycling a QT is a big deal, IMO. You don't need to fight ammonia while a fish is in QT. A seeded sponge or patience.

A "few clowns" is OK when they are juvis; but when sexually mature, most clowns will pair up and not tolerate any other clowns in the same tank.

Ok I ment a pair of clowns so I'll just cycle use the dt as a qt until he live rock is cured in another tank and then put the live rock in
