QT light suggestion

I'm setting up my quarentine tank and was wondering if someone could give me an idea of what I should be using for a light. I was reading that the lighting can be minimal, is there still a minimal number of watts I'm looking for?

Minimal here means "you don't really need it" - aka it's optional. I put a cheap Petsmart LED strip over mine just for the daylight/ moonlight option and to get my fish used to my schedule. No other reason.

You can do this, or just a regular florescent bulb (aka a FW light).

I did what dustinkimpel did and purchased one of those cheap hood lights you can get for $20 they bundle with the kits. You really only need the light so you can see the fish and make sure they are healthy.

it depends on what you're trying to QT.

since i use my QT system for everything, including clams and corals, mine has a T5HO system above it. if i were just doing fish only, then i would use a normal hood light, as suggested by others, like the kind that comes with a normal fish tank.
