QT Placement

Going to try and set up my QT tank today. This is the spot I was thinking about. Where the TV is, of course I wouldn't keep the TV there anymore. I was wondering if this is too much light or anything wrong with this location that could make it trouble for me to keep? This is also where the dogs are 80% of the time and I was a little concerned about dog hair, I did plan on getting a top for it, but it would be like a screen mesh top so the hair couldn't get in the tank. I will also be making my own salt water for this QT tank as well. Is one cup to every 5 gallons a good ratio to start off with? I am using Red Sea Coral Pro Salt mix.

If I am not mistaken, most salts are about 1/2 cup per gallon. The location looks fine, if you intend to keep them blinds closed. Dog hair will still be able to get into a screen top. What size tank? I 2 10 gallons sitting directly on the floor, course I don't have dogs through.

It's a 20Gal tank. Blinds are usually closed more than half way

Looks like that table the TV is on could support the 20 gallon, I may be wrong. Just slide the TV over and place the 20 beside it. You could just get a glass top and have back open with the hard plastic slide piece goes.

Grab it out when you see it. My DT has a mesh top and is in my living room and I've also got 2 huskies & a mix, from time to time friends dogs as well, very little has made it in any of the 3 tanks I have setup.
