QT Question

I have experienced a horrible outbreak of ich in my 75 and have already lost 2 fish. We have decided to take drastic measures.

We are setting up a 150 and have decided to leave it sit without fish for 8 weeks.

This is my question - I would like to keep my diamond goby (he is the only one left) and put him in the QT tank while my other tank is sitting fallow....most of the info that I have read, says the QT tank is supposed to be bare-bottom, however he is a sand-sifter....

How can I make this work? TIA for your help

Many people use a silicate based sand for situations like this. The silicate sands don't remove the copper from the water like aragonite will.
