So i lost several fish due to velvet with the exception of a flame hawk. So I set up a QT and let it cycle and added my hawk who was not displaying any symptoms of any parasites. I bought a bonded pair of clown and added them to my QT. To be preventative I decided to start a copper treatment in case the hawk was infected. I added my first and second dose of copper as per the directions but didn't realize that the copper level was very low. It has been 28+ days at this level but it was not at the recommended level to kill the parasites. All the fish look great and are eating and behaving normally.*
Soooo here is my dilemma.... Because the fish are looking good i'm hesitant to add more copper to the QT because the fish do not seem sick. However, I am also thinking maybe I should bring up the level to therapeutic levels just to be sure.*
My display is current fallow and I plan to leave it that way for the recommended amount of time (70 days)
Thoughts?
