I've heard that it's good to put garlic in the qt tank to help heal a fish if it has a sickness. Now what do you do. Buy a clove of garlic and chop it up till you get the juice then drop a couple of drops in the tank or do you add it to food. Also what about the the garlic that is in the jar with it already chop. I would think that it would contain phosphates?

Garlic is intended to boost a fishes appetite and immune system. There isn't any evidence that garlic works to eradicate pests, it does help to speed the process along, but IMO it is not going to do much floating around in your QT tank. Yes, you add it to the food, either the juice or the actual bits of garlic. And yes i have used the stuff in the jar.

There are only three proven treatments that are consistently effective and you have to know how to properly administer any one of them.

These methods involve copper, hyposalinity, and the transfer method.

Out of those three proven treatments hyposalinity is the least stressful and most effective. I have used all of them, and cooper QT and hypo are my favorites

I got this powder brown tang today and it has these brown spots on it but it is super active and eats alot. I thought it might just be stress but I'm not going to risk it by putting it in my main tank

It is a process used to lower salinity. Its used for treating marine ich. Im not sure what you have though. Ich is white not brown

I'll try to get pics soon. They might not be brown. It's more of a dark spot. I really think it's just stresses. Bc sence I've had it in that tank it's color has came back
