QT tank light

I was just wondering if I can just get by with the regular aquarium flurescent lighting for a 20 G QT tank or should I go for a single PC ?

As long as you can see the fish clearly, it should be fine. Really low lighting can make it hard to see if there's anything on your fish, but a standard fluorescent should be fine.

agreed. The fish will not care, but any corals put in there will need adaquite lighting for their temporary stay.

Very little lighting is needed. All it will do is promote algae growth.

You don't need that.

PatMayo...your comment about lighting is a lil' off. Do we know what kind of QT this is? If it's only for fish, you only need good enough lighting to be able to observe your fish. However, if this person QTs everything wet...as should be done, that'll include corals. Keeping corals in a QT tank for 2-4 weeks with inadequate lighting will result in not having any corals.

An inexpensive Compact Fluorescent fixture will be great for QT lighting for fish or corals.

Any light for fish. With corals you want somewhere around 3-4 watts per gallon but not a lot more. Trying to match the tank lighting on the Q-tank may shock new coral. When moving it to the display place it on the bottom of the tank and slowly move it up to the desired final location.
