Assuming you are doing it for a new fish, yes. If you are transferring fish to QT due to illness I think it would be best to use new water. Using tank water has its advantages!
It will be just for quarantine tank for new fish brand-new aquarium setting up a fish room I was wondering if I should have two quarantine tanks one for frag's. But at the same time I would like to have a tank just for frags
Something to consider is if you ever do need to treat with meds and the frags are in there you will need to move them so it would probably be better to have separate if you want to QT frags and fish be in there at the same time.
Thanks for the input great diagram. I have my fish room set up over my garage about 20 ft from my main display with a 1/2" pvc running thru the walls so I can fill with new SW but the drain line I have hooked up to my washer drain that just goes into a home made dry well in the back yard separate from my septic.
I see u are changing water straight from the sump I thought you should syphon from the main tank for WC's
I will be posting some more picks later today after I get some more done but would really like to check out the dosing pumps so I could make things easier because I still haven't got a great system for doing it yet so every option is open right now
About the only thing that I am sure of is I want to get it set up so I can really start building a cool Reef tank. Mine is 75 gal in the wall and was set up right before xmass
Just have 2 Clowns , a Royal Grammie and a Alge blemmy along with 2 crabs and some snails
In the process of setting things up I am like 2 weeks over due for a WC along with not wanting to put anything else in the main display without going thru QT first
