QT tank ?

I had problems with my last QT tank and lost a lot of fish, I’m going to be getting some more shipped in soon and was wondering how I should clean it out. Someone was telling me to use bleach to which I wasn’t to sure about what kind of water/bleach mix I should use.

And how should I clean the power filter, heater and PH I used?

Also for bio filtration I’m going to use bio balls which I have in a filter sock in my sump. Will 4 weeks be enough time to get them cycled? They will be going in a AQ500 on my 37g QT tank

you can use household bleach, just rinse throughly, let dry in the sun. You can even pre-rinse with dechlorinator. I would disassemble the filter and PH as wmuch as possible and put it all out in the sun. The sun has a tremedous germicidal effect. Be cautious of chemical disinfection with rubbers and plastics as things like bleach will deteriorate orings and gaskets.

if you are concerned with disease, you can even use straight bleach, AS LONG AS YOU TAKE THE STEPS TO ENSURE ITS REMOVED! This actually goes for any bleach solution. Or you can dilute it out to 10% or so- bear in mind this will be less effective, but also less aggressive and harsh.
