QT time - Pyramid snails

I got a clam from a reputable place, but it had some unidentified snails on it. They weren't down by the foot, but just various places on the clam. Most were about 3mm or so long, and white looking. I took my tweezers and plucked (weren't attached hardly) them all off.

The clam is in QT for two days now. It's a Crocea, and probably 3.5" or so. I have it in a 20 gallon with good lighting, and I'll rotate water out from my main tank every other day.

Checking it every other or every few days, how long till I'm clear and free? Being that I think I have a good QT setup (so the clam is at minimal risk), when am I out of the danger zone? The last thing I want is this clam taking out the other clams in my tank.

i wound brush the shell well every other day to remove any tiny snails or egg sacks.

a good safe QT is 4 weeks

Obviously there will be an irritation level there being out of the water (assume the brushing should be done in a small separate container so anything removed will float away). That's acceptable and won't irritate the clam to the point of injury? I assume when I'm brushing, I should get as close to the foot area as possible, but attempt to not touch correct?

Thanks for the thoughts.

when i brush clams i use a soft toothbrush. get the whole shell well but dont touch any flesh. i take a bowl of tank water over to the sink. it shouldn't take more then 5min to do and the clam will be fine being exposed to the air. when you place it back into the tank, hold the clam with the mantle facing up and rock it back and forth a few times to get any trapped air out
