Quality of Groupers...

I have been running ideas of slightly changing my 125 stockist, and one of the candidates has been an attractive small hind (small'ish grouper to the layman). Having been to a number of LFS's I have found that almost every hind/grouper had some severity of HLLE/Hole In the Head disease. It's mostly erosion of flesh around the face, usually shaped like a masked around the eyes and across the snout area. I first noticed it making the rounds in Orlando, but I took a trip out to the coast, Melbourne/Palm Bay LFS's, and then over Thanksgiving in Alabama, I went to 3 stores there and the groupers had the same conditions. I noticed it on a number of speices as well, from Panther Groupers to BlueSpot/BlueLine hinds, to $300 Polleni Groupers.

I'm not trying to call out any stores, because all of them had it. But it's quite interesting/concerning of the frequency that many groupers all had the same problem. I realize HLLE isn't initially life-threatening to the fish, but it's definitely a concern. I guess I'm just looking for some other peoples observations/comments to ensure I've been seeing what I think I've been seeing.
