Quarantie Corals

Banania,

Thank you for contacting us with your great question. We highly recommend that all aquatic life be quarantined in a separate aquarium for a period of two weeks to ensure they are accepting food, eating properly, and are in optimum health before their final transition to your main display.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.

If we are unable to quarantine due to space is their any type of dip for LPS and if so what is the procedure/technique?

Carl,

Thank you for your post and great questions. We do strongly recommend setting up a quarantine tank for acclimation of any new specimens that you might receive. We would recommend at least a 10 gallon quarantine tank if possible.

If you are unable to set up a quarantine tank we would recommend a dip in an Iodine Solution. For example the Lugol's Solution can be used as a dip by adding 40 drops to 1 gallon of aquarium water. The coral can be placed in this solution for approximately 10-15 minutes depending on the condition.
