Quarantien question

I bought a Queen Angle fish yesterday and have it in a 55 gallon QT tank. It is already eating anything I put in the tank and is not a bit shy. My question is if the fish looks real healthy should I still go thru the hypo and all the medication or hold off for a week or so? I plan on keeping it in QT for around 3 weeks to a month. One side note the fish was in the LFS for a month before I bought it.

I would still keep in qt for a couple weeks so you can observe it. it wouldn't hurt to run it through a treatment of prazipro for flukes, but other than that I wouldn't treat for any diseases or illnesses unless you see appropriate signs.

I agree, I usually like to observe for a week or two and also treat would prazipro. Depending on the fish are usually QT a minimum of six weeks.

thanks for replies. He/she is still doing great. Every time I walk up to tank it is right there and eat like a horse. After this one I have room for one more fish. Looking at a PBT, could I quarantine in same tank or should wait until this one is in DT and then get one.

I would wait, Powder Blue Tangs are very hard to get through QT and usually have some type of disease. You will be putting your Angel in major jeopardy if you bring the PB into QT. Plus you will have to start the time clock in QT all over.
