So I just finished up my first batch of quarantine and am getting ready for round two. After I get it all cleaned up tonight and filled, I'll need to add some bacteria for it to cycle.
So I was wondering, I have had some empty HOB filters sitting in my sump (I drained the carbon out) and they've been there for about 4 weeks (all of that time was during my tank cycle). Think they will be ok to kick start the quarantine tank? They are visually clean but that probably doesn't mean much......
I do have some biospira ordered also but its going to arrive the same time as my next batch of fish, so I can use that as a backup too.
