quarantine school

For those of you who do quarantine fish prior to adding to your large displays, how do you do this with a school or shoal of fish such as anthias?

I am planning a 500g display tank and plan to have 8-10 Bartlett's anthias + possibly a school of some type cardinals.

What size tank do you use?

The bigger the display tank the bigger your fish are going to be. Meaning the bigger then normal qt you will need. I use a 4ft 50gallon qt and seems to be fine for a while to house fish. Adding a group that size i would just watch the water quality more carefully and have new saltwater ready to change in case of a potential spike.

I have a 50 QT and a 46 bowfront QT currently. The 50 has a Vlamingi Tang and 4 Lyretail Anthias. The 46 has a Naso Tang, a Royal Gramma, and a Chromis. I use water from my 390 to change water in the QTs. Like yoboyjdizz said, keep an eye on Ammonia and Nitrites.

I was actually more concerned with aggression of a male anthia in a 50g QT tank with females as well as them receiving enough food in a bare-bottom QT tank with no pod population, etc. I have heard of some people not quarantining anthias, fairy wrasses, etc for that reason.

I have 4 anthias in a 50 QT with some large pcv T fittings. They get fed 3 times a day, Formula 1 and 2 flakes crushed real well, frozen enriched mysis, and frozen ocean plankton. I feed them 2 times a day and my wife feeds them once a day. Each time we watch their behavior, and they all eat well. Every time we walk by the guest bedroom where the 50 QT is, we watch for a little while, and have seen no signs of agression. They were in a friends 200 together for a couple years.
