Quarantine Tank help

I read this article a while back on a Quarantine Tank with a sponge and a ir stone in display tank. So when you set up your QT again all you do is take this sponge out and place it in the QT.

Therefore i have done this and i'm going to be getting a Powder Blue Tang tommorow well its coming in tomorrow he will hold for a week to set up QT tank again. Now when i stick this sponge in the QT filled with RO water do I use display tank water in the QT or do I make a mixture @ 1.009. I'm kinda confused for where to go from here. I have a 55 gal I bought for this 20% of display tank.

if your water parameters are good- I would use tank water (more conditioned for picky tangs) Fresh salt water might not have all the goodies in it that make fish happy so to speak. But get some others advise before taking mine.

ok thanks. So your saying to add tank water to proper sal 1.025.
Then do I start to drop the salinity to reach a hypo tank?

anyone else can help me get this started. I think if I was to do the tank water i think i would do a 50/50 water. How's that sound.

I have the sponge in the refugium as a biological filter.

that's the thread i was reading http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-...ature/index.php
so i did the sponge thing its been in there for a couple of months now. My question is do I use tank water or new stuff or 1.009 salinity new water or new and old water I just dunno. I can experiment on this. ok thanks. I just don't want a fish to die. I had a naso tang die a while back because i think that my last QT was too small and I used the copper thing. Never worked for me.
