Quarantine Tank size help

Hello all,
I just discovered last night my blue tang has the dreaded salt bumps..ICH! in my 125 gallon tank! I removed him and put in my 28 gallon nano cube I use for quarantine with copper. I know more than likely the rest of the tank has it as well since that's how it works. I then looked over everyone and saw the Kole tang also has some salt bumps!! I wound up taking every fish out late last night, placing them all in the QT, leaving the DT fish - free to kill the parasite.

So my question is, I will have everyone in the 28 gallon for 6 weeks minimum. I think the 28 gallon is too small for a Fowleri tang (9 inches long), yellow tang, kole tang, 2 small clowns. My only other option is to setup my old 75 gallon aquarium, which I am trying to sell. I have no sump or pumps for it. I would need to buy a canister filter. Very low on funds. Should I do this or will they be fine in the 28 gallon, which is smaller? I have no lighting for the 75 gallon either...it's literally the tank and stand and that is all, with lid.
Thanks!
Steve

Just curious if you had a new addition to the tank that the ick came in on or not. Certainly not judging just curious how it was introduced.

Thanks

thanks for commenting! I'm trying to figure that out as well. The only new addition I had was an oscellaris clown but he was in QT with cupramine for 3 weeks. 2 weeks with and last 1.5 weeks without. I QT everything. No issues since I upgraded to this 125 about 6 months ago from a 75 gallon. All was great. I used my live rock from my 75 and used all new sand (not live sand.) I buy all dead rock always. The only thing I can think of, is that I added a few turbo snails. Can't QT them in copper of course so I dipped them briefly in freshwater for a few seconds...3 different dips...3 different containers. Maybe I should have left them in a QT for 5 weeks with no copper before putting in main tank? Maybe that was it? I added them about 3 weeks ago. I felt weird adding them since I didn't QT like I do the fish. How do you guys QT new shrimp or snails?

This is my fear. I QT all new fish but do not QT inverts. So far I have not had a problem but I do worry about it. I have been told it is possible for them to carry Ick if they have been in a tank with it but rare and unlikely that it would be transferred to tank from a snail.
