Quarantine Tank?

Do any Nano tank owners out there with a Quarantine tank? I know our systems are small to begin with, just wondering if you do.

If so please post pictures and a description of what you got on hand or running at all times.

I don't have any pictures, but I have 2 nano tanks, 12G & 29G. I QT everything, right now I've got 2 B&W clowns in there swimming around. it's a standard 15G tank with hood and 3 T shaped PVC pieces for them to hide in. filtration is a HOB filter that sits in my HOB fuge of my 29G when im not QTing. it's simple and safe. I'd rather QT than have anything die in my tanks.

I currently have a 36g bow and a 10g tank. The 10g does not have any fish yet. After a bout of "black ich" in the 36g system. I will always QT my fish. It was very stressful for me and the fish during the infestation and the 4week qt to get them healthy.

A QT tank is definitely the best idea, but I don't use one

johnmiller has a nice QT setup, you should be able to dig up info in his build thread.

So any of those tanks above would do the job right? Just a simple tank HOB filter heater and water from your tank and store the filter in your fuge for when you need to set it up.

No sand just PVC.

Correct?

I took a 30g tank, put in a glass divider and made a 10g/20g "duplex" QT facility. One side for fish, one side for coral. No sumps, just HOBs.

Works great. I love it.

Im five days shy of a month that my fish have been in QT/hospital tank soaking in chelated copper =2ppm. My bout of Ich was brought in to my DT from two juvie perc's. they both died...then my fav tang got Ich my setup includes Dr Tims ONE and ONLY for the biological filtration...i didnt have any hob's ready when the ich broke out....so i used his nitrifying bacteria for the instant setup of my QT..I filled the qt with sw, from dt, added the hob with ceramic rings and added the One and Only, two hours later I added my four fish, the next day i added the copper...and we have been cruising along almost a month, with two gallon wc every three days, I could snap a few pics but really...its just a 10gal, heater, whisper 20hob, small airpump and stone, two pvc pipes and a tight fitting plastic lid that helps with evap, and i wrapped the three sides of ten gal with the cardboard box it came in. josh
