Another approach would be to do frequent small water changes in qt with dt water.' Much safer IMO.

+1; I have mine automatically do water changes each morning. I am about to downgrade QT size, but with my 46g QT it would do a 10% daily water change, with water from my DT being the replacement water. This way the water parameters are near exact when time to move over the inhabitants. Quick and easy.

Way over thinking. Get your QT salinity and temp to match DT (not very hard at all).

To transfer, I net the fish to a containier of DT water then net him from that to the DT.
