Quarantining Mollies?

Calappidae

Harlequin Shrimp
This thought just came in my head, but is is necessary to quarantine mollies before acclimating them to salt water? Or is any parasitic pathogen usually killed by the salinity? (I know hyposalinity is a treatment method for freshwater diseases.)

Likewise, is it necessary to quarantine them after acclimating them to saltwater?

IMO; if you convert a molly over from full FW to SW, you don't have to worry about QT. This is because any FW diseases they are carrying will be killed off once exposed to SW. However, once converted over they become just as susceptible to any SW disease the same as any other SW fish. ;)

I agree. Treatment would be the salt water methodology as parasites are different in salt water and fresh water.
