quarantining tangs

What size tank is recommended to quarantine tangs? I know they need a lot of room to swim or they get stressed out. but it seems like it would cost a fortune to keep a larger tank around, and dose any medication in a larger tank. Is something like 20 acceptable?

My main tank is going to be 180 gallons so i'm not worried about that. The tangs I plan on purchasing when it is time will be in the 3-4" range.

29 or bigger will work fine for most. Its not a long term thing so it doesn't have to be as big as your main tank. Make sure you QT tangs for at LEAST 6 weeks after seeing no parasites/infections, and always do a Hypo treatment with them.

If you want an entire article on how to do a really good QT (written by Lee Birch), send me a PM and I'll give you a link.
