quarintine tank

I am looking for a little if info I have a 30 gallon tank that i used to have srt up for a reef tank but i upgraded and now it is in the basmen empty.how would i go about setting this up for a quarintine tank. I have never set one up before so don't know how it all works or if it is worth it or not. If anyone can help i would appreciate it
