Quartz Halogen Fixture

I am sure it has been asked before but,

Can a quartz halogen light fixture be used w/ a DE bulb? Are the ballasts compatible?

A quartz halogen fixture does not use a ballast at all. It works the same as a standard incandesant bulb. I've seen people use the housing itself for 150w DE bulbs, but you still need a real MH ballast.

The way people are always upgrading around here - you could probably get a pretty good deal on a pendant designed for MH bulbs and get much better results.

thanks for the info.. i just saw a nice little pendant on hellolights.com that looks pretty sweet. (plus its cheap )
