Question about Chillers/Lighting

I'm still planning (and will be for a while) and I have a question about chillers. When I had my previous system setup, I was living in the mountains just outside of SLC so I did not need a chiller. Now that I'm in Tucson, I figure 100+ degree heat for extended periods of time will probably require that I use a chiller. That said, I think I remember seeing in someone's signature that they were using the Solaris lighting system. After researching this and asking a couple of other people, it seems that there is little to no heat transfer. The Solaris is obviously big $$, but then again so is a good quality chiller. I'm guessing (and I could obviously be wrong here) that with the use of the Solaris, I may be able to forego the chiller (and instead put that $$ towards the Solaris).

Any thoughts anyone??? Opinions/suggestions/random babble/political commentary appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I find I do not need a chiller on my tank if I keep the shop under 76. The solaris adds no heat but I have tons of humidity. I think using an external pump with a solaris would negate the need of a chiller unless you like a hot house. Better to chill you, the family and the tank then just the tank IMO.

So far my Solaris has not raised my tank temp, I keep it at 79 and house at 78. Just got AC last year July, used to get 87 with swamp cool(100% humidity) house and Tank at 82 with chiller. Gonna live good this year.
