are you testing for Alk and Ca?
start small and test regularly. depending on your starting point, i would start of with 10 - 15ml daily( added slowly and separately to an area of high flow in your sump or tank ), then test your params again after a few days or a week.
it is a really good idea to keep a log of your test params so you can see the effects of your actions. you can then adjust your dosing to get the desired results. if the Ca and Alk are dropping then bump it up to 20ml daily and test again after a few days etc .......
once you get it where you want you can start testing less frequently but you still need to test.
