Question about construction of large tank - Bottom panel in-between side panels?

Just a quick question. I got a new tank made by a builder and they build their tank with the bottom panel between the side panels. The builder says it is stronger then putting the side panels on top of the bottom panel. This is contrary to what I thought.

Any thoughts/comments.

The tank is 84"x26"x27" and made of 3/4" star fire

Maybe you could also run this by Acrylics... he hangs out in the diy section alot. Hes been dealing with tank construction for a long time.
