Hey all,
Quick question about setting up a dual chambered Ca Reactor using the large grain Schuran media.
Now, with regular media such as ARM, I would expect to set the effluent out of chamber one to say 6.7, then expect the effluent out of the 2nd chamber to be 7-7.1. That being said, I coudl set my controller to turn off if the final effluent dropped below say 6.9.
But, with the large grain media, I woudl expect that the chamber one media will need to get down to say 6.4, making the effluent out of the second chamber say 6.8.
Measuring PH out of the first chamber is not feasible.
SO, would you all suggest that I set the controller to shut off at a PH of 6.7 out of the second chamber?
Secondly, I would really appreciate some feedback from those of you using the large grain media as to what your effluent PH is and whether is driving down the PH in your tank perhaps more than a normal media.
Thanks!!
