Question about copper

I would like to convert my freshwater tank into a reef setup.

A while ago I tried the freshwater live plant thing and the snail population went crazy. I got rid of the frehwater fish I had and bombed the tank with copper to kill the snails and restarted the freshwater tank (cleaned, new cycle, new fish etc....)

Could I ever clean/rinse this tank good enough to use it for saltwater or should I find another 10 gallon and give this away to someone who could use a freshwater tank.

Thanks for any input

copper is safe for marine fish, but not for inverts
if you plan on doing a 10 gal nano, just get a new tank

not worth the worry to try the old tank

Like know-it-all said. Take the old tank to good will, or keep for a QT. New 10gal tanks are just $10.
