Question about coralline

I recently introduced a large cleanup crew into my 180. 50 astria snails, 10 large turbo grazers and 10 cerith. I also had a bunch of hermit crabs in there that have gotten really big and I have a sea urchin. Could they be eating my coralline and if my parameters are good (which they are) should I expect it to grow back? It seems I'm getting some green coralline developing on my rocks, but I've definitely lost a great deal of my crusty purple.

Any and all opinions would be appreciated.

Urchins can be eating at your coraline. Calcium does seem a bit high. Also, if your tank is healthy enough to grow coraline, it wont have a problem growing back. Keep in mind, coraline exposed to air during water changes can and most of the time turns white and flakes away.

I'd like to see a pic of green coralline algae . I get a nice fluorescent green before it turns pink on some of my old dry rocks.

I agree with yellowtail on the urchin but keep in mind that at a ceretain point, and I can't remember what it is but you're close, your water will become saturated with calcium and it will precipitate out of solution and leave a white coating on things. You can ask what the saturation point of calcium is in the Chemistry forum.

CORALLINE Algea?

CORALLINE Algea?

I have noticed when I use a 2-part cal +buffer and a reef former or reef builder that enhances calcium , magnesium and strontium , leads to an increased amount of growth of calcerous purple corallines. I also dose a magnesium supplement every third day with my Iodine and Iron and manganese supplement for macro algea growth in my refugium. What do you dose your reef with to keep up with its depletion?:reading:

The only additives I dose are Seachem's AquaVitro...Balance, Fuel, and Vibrance. Here is a pic of the green coralline. Here is a pic of green coralline.
