Question about Debilus fairy wrasse

I was wondering if the male Debilus fairy wrasse needs females in order to keep it's color? Thanks in advance.

For those not familiar with that common name it's scientific name is C. adornatus. Thanks.

C. adornatus will fade a bit without a female and will, primarily, lose some of the red coloration on the dorsal fin. A nice fish, however, I enjoy mine.
