Question about Glue.

I have recently Purchased Super Glue Anchor-Tite Waterproof Epoxy. I found a link to the superglue website. http://www.supergluecorp.com/superglue/15206.html

On the site there is a MSD sheet and a PD sheet but I'm not sure how to read any of those

I was wondering if it is harmful to use in aquariums...

Some1 contacted the maker to see what they had to say on this subject. Here is their reply: "We do not recommend using Anchor Tite Waterproof Epoxy for applications with fish and/or sea life. We do not have safety test data for this. Pro Seal Silicones may be an alternative, as they are safe for this use."

Has any1 used this product b4 with corals w/o any problems?

I wouldn't risk it. Aqua-Mend epoxy putty and any Cyanoacrylate gel super glue will take care of all of your fragging needs

If I were to just cover up the glued section with aquaium silicone do u think it would be ok then? Then it wont even hit the water. I am not using the glue to secure frags I just asked this question in here because it's a good place to ask about securing things with adhesives. I am using the glue on some of my plumbing for my sump

i think you should use a marine epoxy if anything. what are you gluing to what? that could better help us help you with your situation. and no siliconing it would not work because the liklyhood that the silcone will bond to the glue and stay stuck for a long time is unlikly.

the outside should be fine but the problem is on the inside of the pipe. IMO start over. better save than sorry

I can get the inside too no problems It is the reverse flow attachment on the marineland 1140 powerhead (just the little plastic piece)... What if I just test it in a fresh water tank with 5 guppies? If some of them live it should be ok right? I say some because guppies die all the time for no apparent reason.

It is only the top black plastic elbow portion and I glued a pvc pipe onto it. I would post a pic but I don't know how to do it on this forum. Anyways thanks for the input it's nice havin a forum that responds to noobs.

that stuff is fine and you dont have to cover it with silicone.

Its not nice to kill guppies in experiments anyway lol
