question about hammer frag

alright so i just picked up a hammer coral frag from one of my lfs. the guy fragged it for me off one of his bigger corals, it has been in the tank for about 3 hours now and it fully opened after being in the tank forr about 45 minutes. my question is the base of the frag is like a brownish color from where he cut it and about half an inch up. could this be because he just fragged it?

If it has opened up already I wouldn't worry too much about it. A picture would help though. Good luck with it!

yea ill get a pic up tomorrow my lights just turned off. the brown part isnt slimy or anything it just looks like the base is discolored
