Question about handling JF jack-o-lantern lepto frag...

I'm getting in a JF jack-o frag. :bounce2::xlbirthday::bounce3::hb2::celeb3::celeb1::inlove:

I want to cut it off the plug and glue it directly to the rock, but i've heard it's not good to touch these.

Any tips from anyone on handling this frag?:fish1:

Never heard of such a thing?? As Cloak stated, be gentle is all. It is a smaller polyp stony after all.

It's weird, I have one of these and if you touch it too much the flesh comes right off. As long as you're gentle it's ok but I've never seen anything like it.

Hmm we just made 20 frags of a large colony for a recent show on the saw. I have always had one in my tank too, never seen this. Not saying it's not true, but we were over handling it and all are recovered and encrusting nice already.

I'd let grow and cover the whole disk. Glue the disk to rock so it grows off disk onto rock. Then remove the disk.

The only thing is I don't like the disc being obvious under the JF lepto when it starts growing, i mean someone fragged it a glued it to the disc without damage, so why can't I?

I removed my frag from the plug and glued it into a piece of live rock rubble. The flesh looked unhappy in the places I touched it but they all recovered soon enough.

If the frag isn't grown onto the plug then you can just pop it off and glue it down, no worries there.

The frag turned out to be bigger than I thought, I was able to hold just the edges after popping it off the plug and glue it.
Beautiful piece!
