I'm fairly sure you guys are tired of answering noob questions but I'm gonna be that guy anyway. If I'm attempting to starve my algae tank of light can i just leave my (Fluval Marine 2.0 LED lights) on just the blues and still starve the algae? Although I've taken Biology in college I am still unclear on if algae and/or the coral can use the blue light beneficially or not.

Coral do use blue light, some algae will too as well although to a lesser extent. It would probably help control the algae, but not be as effective as lights out.
