I'm in the same boat as fishyapol. Got my tank today. Instructions!?!?!?! I'm gonna ditch the extra balls and those little tuby things and put some live rock back there.

I currently have a 10 gallon regular old glass aquarium with 13 pounds of live rock, a yellow wrasse, emerald crab, few miscellaneous hermits, and a button polyp. Going to move up to my 24 gallon Aquapod within the next 30 days. But have NO idea how to finish setting it up.

I just got one and will be doing the same as gayle with the live rock, I might try to cram a maxi-jet and a mini-jet in the second chamber and put in a second return with locline for more flow. The stock powerhead appears to be very sad. Before I put anything in it, it needs a stand...

just got mine running...took everything out and will be filling it with LR and some Chaeto and a submercible halo light. Replacing the pump with a Maxi1200 and some Eheim tubing I have laying around. My problem right now is in the skimming...I got the Fission but it's kinda bubbly, not sure what to do yet, any suggestions?

I'm using a Hydor Epik for heat and additional water movement in the tank, probably a Maxi600 as well. will let you know how it all works out.

Pics please!!! How are you installing your powerhead? I know this sounds like a dumb question....but there's only one hole. And how do you get the power cord out the back? There are 2 tiny holes with round things in the center of them. they won't move for me. I was going to get a wrench or something to try and loosen them up a bit. But they still don't look big enough for 2 powerhead electical cords and a heater cord.

Today I'm going to buy some more sand and water. Maybe some more goodies.

I sent a message to Current-USA as well. In there advertisements it specifically states "Complete Instructions". Is that some sort of joke?

i have had a 24DX nano for about five months up and gonig i have a few suggestions

the tube things are called ceramics and are basically useless they just give serface area fore bacteria like the bioballs do i ripped all that out and only left the carbon that only my .02

1. if you use the maxijet1200 it is a very high wattage pump and jumps the degrees in yous tank by a minimum of 2-3
2. by putting rock in one of the compartments in the back (which i have at the moment) it restricks flow jumping tank temp by minimum of 1 degrees propally closer to 2 degrees though
3. if you use one compartment for a fuge like one person posted with a light that creates more heat also
4. the skimmer takes about two weeks to start working really good but once it does they are awesome
5. the fission nano skimmers totally depend on steady water level to work correctly read the instrucions for more info.
6. when the lights come on during the day the temp just don't forget that little factor you don't want to fry you tank

my tank went through the start up cycle in about 2 week and normally takes others 4-5

my tank has 30lbs LR 45lbs LS 7lbs LR rubble in second chamber the two stock sponges in first chamber and return pump in third
with current setup i am running about 79-81 degrees during the day

I'm in the process of adding a 20gal fuge with gravity return to it but this will take another few weeks

oh yeah i really don't see a need for a heater either unless you live somewhere where it snow or drops below freezing for long periods of time then maybe but i know about three others that have them that don't even need to turn them on so its a waste of money space and time

The thing to keep in mind about anything you choose to keep in the rear chambers is keep it clean, sponges, bio-whatever or live rock and macro. Beware of the urgency many people place on transforming your rear chambers into a "fuge" (adding live rock, macro algae and lighting it up), it will not be doing what many people think it is in this type of set up. If you decide to use live rock in the rear chambers, you really will want to figure out a way to remove it with ease so that you can keep it clean (some type of sock or basket). ...if not, down the road it will wind up causing some of the very problems you put it there to combat.

Instructions.... well, it gives us instructions on setting up the tank... not the reef. (and if you bought the stand it did not even have instruction for assembling that.. lol)

Yes, if you want another outlet into the display you will have to drill, drape a tube over the false wall, or just mount the powerhead inside the display alltogether.

The plastic rings in the cord holes at the back of the hood do pop out. Push them from the inside out and they should come free. you may have to squeeze them together a bit with your finger tips while pushing.

Good luck and keep us posted on your plans.

well everything is up and running for me right now, its been since this past wednesday, all the fishes are fine and been doing some testing and nothing has spiked or any major changes. I will get pictures up the next couple days. i did not do any major changes on the back chambers, i left everything there, i added my old powerhead to the tank because the one that it came with was not doing the job, better flow now.The thing i noticed was the water temp. i left my heater at 71, because the hood heats it up a bunch,, sometimes topping off at 80*-81*,, dont know, is that kinda high, well thats it for now, if anyone out there has any good input for me to do any changes that i should do,, would help.. thanks yall
