Question about my GBTA

I have a green bubble tip anenome. Just got him from the LFS 2 days ago and he was in perfect health. My tank parameters are good. Everything 0 across the board.
55g with 20g sump and fuge. my fuge has a ton of chaeto and critters in it.
Salinity 1.024
temp 81
Lights are 4-110w VHO. 2 10k and 2 acentic. Bulbs are 5 months old
PH 8.2
Alk 7.6
Calc 450

All my corals are doing very well, My leather frag doubles in size almost every night.

Now to the question. My anenome moved from the top of the rock and wedged himself inbetween two rocks almost to the point were he was hiding. There was only a little bit of him sticking out. So I moved the rocks to try to get him out and found he was attached to two different rocks. After a 20 minute struggle, I could not get him off. So I moved the rock against the glass to keep him exposed to light. This morning, I found he moved to the other side of the rock with his top side squashed up the side of the glass. so I moved the rock back to its original position and he now sits on top. Why would he keep putting himself in places where he is getting squashed and little light? He looks perfectly normal otherwise and has great color.

your anemone is just adjusting to its new environment. chances are the anemone did not have the same lighting at the lfs that you have in your tank so it will take time to adjust to the lighting, flow, etc..... give it time and have patience. the less your rearrange and touch the anemone the faster it will settle in. good luck and post some pics.

^^Yep, just leave it be and it'll come out when it's ready. That's not to say ignore it, keep an eye out for the usual signs of a dying 'nem but don't force him out of his spot unless you're sure it's on the way out.

I haven't touched him in about 4 days now. Still in the same spot. On the side of the rock, sort of wedged inside it. Other than that, he looks good. His tenticles are all blown up and I can't see his mouth. I'll try and post some pics today.

I bought the same, gbta, about the same time and mine is doing the same thing. (wow 4 same's in the same sentence!)

The tenticles look nice and fat w/ bubbles and nipples, it looks about the same size as it did in the store, maybe a little bigger. But it is on the side of a rock not getting much light. When it moved there there was a rock on top too, but I moved that. I guess I'll just let it do what it wants and see what happens.

good luck, hopefully both our anemones will be fine in a few

Update. Here is a pic of my anonome on the side of the rock, taken with my phone so it might not be crystal clear.

I woke up this morning, checked my tank around 8am and found a happy clown inside it. Didn't take long. My lights don't go on until noon.

I think the anonome looks healthy, but its my first one so does anyone have any reassurance?

Looks a little pale but if it's attached then it just needs time to settle in. Have you tried feeding it yet ? I have a GBTA and when it's fully expanded it's approx 5" across, but it likes to keep itself wedged into a tiny crevice with just the ends of the tentacles showing. Yours may be like mine and just prefers somewhere snug.

I have feed mysis but did not target feed it. The second picture with the clown in it has the lights off. The first pic has the lights on but it actually looks a little greener than that in the tank. My camera phone is just not that great I don't think. But you can see how its sort of in the rock and parts of it are coming through different holes. Should I try to target feed it? I'm wondering if my clown will start to bring it food since it started hosting.
