Question about my order

Hi,

My wife just ordered me a Multicolor Angel from your Diver's Den page and I wanted to know what the fish is currently eating so I can make sure to have it on hand when the fish arrives?

Thank you!

Clamrade,

Thank you for your order and asking about our feeding regimen. At our Aquaculture Coral and Marine Life Facility, the Multicolor Angels have been fed a variety of vitamin enriched foods which consist of frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, live ghost shrimp, frozen krill, silversides, roe, dried seaweed, cockle, and even pellet foods.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the quick response.

I just wanted to make sure I have the correct foods on hand that the fish is already eating at your facility to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Just an update of my order:

The original order was placed on Thursday night and another order was placed on Friday. I have Dr. F&S to ask for the orders to be combined immediately after placing the second order but it was shipped out in 2 pkgs. As of 12:30PM PST, neither one of the packages have arrived. One pkg has an estimated delivery time of today before 3PM PST. The other had an exception scan on the pkg showing it didn't go out for delivery.

I called FedEx to see if there was an incorrect/incomplete address or something and they just said that it didn't go out for delivery but the address on the package is correct. So I have no choice but to race to FedEx after work to pick it up myself so hopefully they didn't lose the package but that is weird that Fedex would put one package on car and the other didn't make it out for delivery.

Below are pics of the box that was not delivered and had to be picked up. I think the box was dropped or something heavy was set on it at one point or another because one of the bottom corner of the box is dented in and both bags in the box are deflated and leaking. The lid of the styrofoam box is also cracked and held together by the packaging tape.

The Elegance and the Angel didn't make it as the bags were deflated and water leaked out of the bag and into the styrofoam box.

Angelfish DOA.

My other package that was delivered arrived in the afternoon instead of the morning at a business location and the regular driver said the package was not on his car but was shuttled to him which led me to believe that the package was loaded and driven around or kept on a wrong car all day. When I received the box, the temperature inside measured 88degrees F (I work in a laboratory and had the box delivered there so I used a regularly calibrated thermometer to measure the temperature, the same one we use to check in samples to our lab).

I then surrounded the bag with ice packs wrapped in paper towels to slowly bring down the temperature. The Elegance is still alive but doesn't look very good. The bone of the Elegance was hacked/cut on both sides as if it was fragged and maybe it didn't have enough time to heal as I wasn't able to see any new skeleton from where it was cut, just a fresh cut as it is still very white in color. There are parts of the Elegance where it looks to be receding from the skeleton but I am not sure if that was due to the fragging or the shipping. Here are some pics:

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi Tina,

Thank you for your assistance and for the credit. Even though the whole ordeal has been very hectic and stressful, the customer service from you guys have been very good. I do understand that things like this happen.

I will continue to monitor the Elegance closely and keep you posted. Is it normal for the Elegance to be cut/hacked at both ends like a frag? Was it cut at your facility? I'm concerned whether it had enough time to heal or not since the cut looks like it was done very recently as it is still pure white in color.

Thank you.

Clamrade,

Thank you for your response. The Aussie Elegance is harvested by fragging off a brood stock in the wild. We receive these fragged from Australia, and have been stocking them for over a year with great success. Please continue to monitor this coral and contact us back with any further updates.

Hi Nate,

Thanks for the clarification. The Elegance looks like it's getting acclimated and starting to open up a little more today.

Thanks again for the great customer service.
