Question about QT for SPS

You essentially need a smaller version of your main tank. I use a 40 gallon tank, with MH lighting, skimmer, etc. It's set up bare bottom with good flow provided by the return pump and a few power heads. The key is observing the corals for trouble signs and taking appropriate measure if needed. I keep all new SPS corals in QT for at least 8 weeks.

You can probably get by with a 10 or 20 gallon with a h.o.t skimmer...

You could also do a good manual inspection and a dip in something like tropic Marin Pro. Not as surefire safe but many people including myself do it in leiu of QT tank.

Thanks for the reply. There really isn't any shortcut in this hobby is there?
I have had a bout with Ich and lost a prized Moorish Idol and a Powder Brown. My tank (and myself) is just recovering from this bad experience. I think I will set up a quarantine just for incoming SPS.

Cheers!
