Question about starting tank...

Ok i have almost everything i need for my tank, i have to get several things though, like test kits, salt, and water treatment chemicals.

I am going to get those next week payday.

This is what i was wondering i was going to start out with some figi rock to get the tank cycled, i am getting the money this month to pay for the lighting but am trying to get the tank cycling; i do have a floresent light i could use for now for some type of light, im just trying to get the tank cycled, or should i use a shrimp to get it cycled?

I am going to buy a ro-di setup later on when i get the money up for it.

You are better off in the "New to the hobby" forum. There are a couple of threads by Waterkeeper and Travis about starting new tanks. They will get you going in the right direction.
