Question about Stream for 90g

Roger,

I have a 90g AGA megaflow tank. My tank is BB abd would like to use a Stream with controller. This will be a mixed reef tank. I was thinking of using 2 6000's with Multicontroller. Will this be too much? Thx

It won't be too much but one might suffice if you have a strong return- say 700gph. I would start with one and see what you think and then you can decide on the controller and second pump.

Thanks Roger. I think that is what I'm gonna do. I want the new controller anyway so I will purchase 1 6000 and see if that works. What Magnet should I get for my 90g AGA. I think the thickness is 3/8". I know by the chart it says to use the smaller but just wanted to check.

Thanks

The magnets are underrated if anything, they are very strong and their is no need to oversize.

Hey Roger,

I have seen some posts that state the best placement for the stream is the back corners facing the front center of the tank. About how far down in the tank should they go? I have a 90 standard which is 24inches deep. My tank is also BB with alot of rock work.Similar to "The Berlin Wall Method" :)

You want to aim just shy of the center, about 1/3rd in. 4" down is the ideal as surface agitation is the most critical aspect of flow.

:) I don't criticize lots of rock but it needs to have plenty of spaces and should be self supporting rather than leaning against the glass. These layouts have trouble over time from detritus pockets and so I would just be careful. When i had my shop one of our guys layed out his rock like an expert mason and that was a phrase we termed to jab at him as he was a devotee of the Berlin method.
