What is meant by linear overflow? An overflow with or without the teeth?

I would think it's the standard teeth type overflow design, right?

It's the drain/flow calculator.

I believe it is simply how long the minimum your overflow should be. Longer would be better if you can manage as it helps with surface skimming.

I think so, too. A standard type overflow with teeth.
