Question about tossing my fluval away.

Once I have ditched my fluval 305 away then the small protein skimmer that is doing its job just fine will now have a double workload?


So I am just wondering if I should upgrade to a larger skimmer?


Or just use the "WAIT AND SEE" what the skimmer does appraoch?

All depends what your protein skimmer is rated for. What brand/model skimmer is it?

I can tell you that I sold both of my fluvals, and there are many days when I just wish I still had at least one... I wish I still had one that I could load up with GFO, and Carbon.

Your skimmer should be rated for the work load.

I use a canister just to polish the water and run carbon a few hours per day. The jury is still out as to if it's worth the trouble or not. I clean it every 7 to 10 days. I use GFO in a reactor to improve contact time.
