Question about Tunze Turbelle pumps

Can the outside magnet be used inside the water (saltwater) the reason I ask this is because my tank has a 3/4" acrylic rear wall and 3/8" black acrylic sheet for background and overflow.

I was thinking if I could set up the Tunze in the overflow box that has the 3/8" acrylic sheet but the rear magnet would be submerged in salt water.

THX in advance

Not quite sure about the tunze, but I have the outside magnet of my koralia in the water against the false wall and have for some time with no ill effects.

To be honest, I never thought twice about putting it in the water. Maybe I should have done a little more research haha

The dry side and wet side magnets look exactly the same. I don't see why you can't.

Perfect, this means both sides can be underwater.

Do you guys know if the non controllable Turbelle pumps can be put on a wavemaker?

yeah either side of the mag. can be under water.

as for them being on a wave maker, they can be but they have to be switched on/off every 5 min. I think no faster or they will burn up.

ok from roger about tunze non controllable pumps on a wave maker.

"Not unless you only want it to last 3 months. This will destroy the pump and void the warranty. The unidirectional clutch mechanism cannot handle the start stop operation and it should only be turned off and on once an hour 24 times a day at most"
