Question for 200DD owners

I'm wanting to set up a 200DD w/ monterey stand (25.5" internal H) and I'm trying to plan my sump. I'd like to use a 40B but b/c of the height restriction of the stand, I wouldn't be able to remove the skimmer should I need to.

I'm wondering how much back-flow you guys get during power failures. I know a lot of it depends on return plumbing, but I'd like to see if I can manage to work out a 30B sump plan. I know with my 125 and 40L sump there's a good amount of back flow. Thanks in advance!

my 250dd drops the water down 2 inches. So I would assume the 20dd does the same. So if you do the math you can figure out how many gallons it will have to hole. 36"x2"x48". Use a gallon calculator. Hope this helps.

I have two 250 DD's, same stand height with 40B's as my sumps and Skimz 251 skimmers. I can remove my skimmers when necessary without any problems. Additionally, I used union couplers on all my plumbing, so in a pinch I could pull the sump if necessary.

I get about 2" of back flow when I shut the pumps down. My sumps are about 50% utilized, so never a problem during power outages

What is your surface area? That is what matters the most. The bigger that your DT surface area is the more height or surface area you need in the sump.
Example- your tank is 36x24 if your sump is 12x24 every 1/2" you drop out if your display is an additional 1.5" in your sump
