Question for Reeflo Users

I have been running a Goby Gold Series pump for about 2 months now. I've never used a Reeflo pump, so I'm trying to find out if the following is normal...

It seems like I'm getting some salt creep where the shaft runs into the impeller housing. It's not a leak/drip, but a buildup of a hard, white substance that tastes like salt.

Is this normal?

on the 5 Reeflo pumps i'm using, yes. we also use some larger ingersol-rand pumps with the same impeller design, and they all get the same build-up as well. doesn't seem to effect performance at this point.

yes. but they all do apparently.
