Question for Snorvich

Quick question for anyone that has done formalin dips to cure brook.

when do you see a physical difference on the skin of the fish? how do i know this is even working? how long before the skin lesions heal?

here is what i noticed
1- fish is more active and hiding less, he is no longer shy
2- he is less itchy
3- however the skin does not look that much better, it does not look worst

Been a while since I've dealt with Brook, but from what I remember it can take some time for the fish to start physically looking better. However, as you've noticed, improvement in behavior is almost immediate.

My clown had it worst, large skin lesion, took 2-3 weeks to look better. The scar went away after 2-3 months. During the formalin dip treatment time it won't heal well either. If it gets worse need antibiotics to help it recover.

Thank you, i guess i will run some nitrofuracin green when this is done

quick note, i had to stop the bath again the naso does not react well to formalin at all

hopefully 4 days of it in the system has sterilized it
